Aligning with our aim of digitally empowering the grassroots organisations, the eNGO Programme organised a session on ‘Crowdfunding – The challenges and potential’, especially for NGOs, on September 10, 2016, on the sidelines the Crowdsourcing Week Summit in Bengaluru. Held in collaboration with Catapooolt, India’s premier crowdfunding platform, the session was led by Mr. Satish Kataria, MD of Catapooolt, who aimed at making the grassroots organisations understand the concepts and techniques of crowdfunding to leverage the power of communities. Two of our eNGO network members, Brihaspati Pandey from Uttar Pradesh and Majethy Sujatha from Hyderabad also spoke about their digital initiatives of raising funds through crowdsourcing and crowdfunding respectively.
Around 35 organisations took part in the session; and they were given on-the-spot guidance to launch their respective crowdfunding campaigns on Catapoolt.
It was a truly digitally empowering feat for the organisations.
