DAY 1| 1st Half Focus: Digital Inclusion of NGOs PARALLEL SESSION 3.1 (Time – 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Background
There are currently more than 3.3 million NGOs / CBOs and Self Help Groups in India and the majority of them do not have a proper webpage. Most of the NGOs working at the grassroots level thus remain unknown and do not earn the appreciation and benefit coming from sources that can provide tremendous energy to them. This anonymity might have been caused for reasons like lack of finance, expertise and foresight.
Since the launch of eNGO International Programme, DEF has enabled over 2000 NGOs with ICT and Web presence. With PIR partnership for .NGO initiative, DEF has furthered the eNGO beyond India to other south Asian countries as well as African countries such as Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, etc. The eNGO Challenge Summit 2013 is focusing on ‘Digital Inclusion of NGOs’. The Summit will decide the eNGO Challenge Winners & Runner up based on their presentation & discussions with Jurors & Panelists and those will be recognized and honored during for eNGO Challenge Award Gala in different categories.

- Digging out to get the best NGOs out of all Finalists selected by Jurors
- Giving opportunities to all Finalist to present their organization
- How NGOs are using ICT for various domains of development
- How NGOs can build and leverage Internet presence by using free open source.
- How .NGO will empower grassroots NGOs with internet
- How online fundraising can be an easy tools for NGOs
- Roadmap of eNGO Challenge 2014
Methodology
- The session will focus on deliberating the outcome of ‘eNGO Challenge’ the process instituted by DEF & .ORG to identify & recognizes the best NGOs using digital tools.
- This session will have 18 presentations who are short-listed by eNGO Jury Panel as leading eNGO Challengers 2013
- Panelists will choose the winners & runner up from each categories of eNGO Challenge 2013
- Followed by 30 minutes of discussion on which will layout 10 recommendations will be suggested by panelist and moderator will sum the Session on “what could be the future of NGOs in digital era”
- The Panelists will have discussion on the Road Map of eNGO Challenge 2014 which will layout 10 recommendations for Next year.
